For the second straight night, the Oklahoma City Thunder (9-12) will host the Minnesota Timberwolves (6-16) at 7 p.m. CT on FS-OK.
Last night the Thunder lost a heartbreaker; D’angelo Russell hit a game winning three for the Timberwolves.
The shorthanded Thunder have been missing key players during this past week.
Hopefully, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luguentz Dort who are both day-to-day, can return tonight in the second game of this back to back with Minnesota.
In order to avenge their loss, the Thunder need to improve on a few things. First and foremost, the Thunder must limit their turnovers.
Hamidou Diallo did step up with a career high ten assists as the primary ball handler in the Thunder’s big lineup. However, Oklahoma City had 17 turnovers on the night, with three of them coming in the fourth quarter.
Despite the turnovers, the big lineup Oklahoma City ran with for most of the game was quite successful and should be featured again tonight. Against a Timberwolves team without their star center Karl-Anthony Towns, a bigger lineup is very effective. The Thunder were able to out rebound Minnesota and OKC had seven blocks on the night.
If Oklahoma City is unable to get some guards back tonight, the big lineup should help them keep the game close and competitive.
