For Oklahoma City Thunder fans, April 21, 2019, is probably not the best date to remember.
It’s the last day Russell Westbrook and Paul George would ever wear a Thunder jersey inside The Peake.
At the time, no one thought Westbrook and George would leave.
Those rumors wouldn’t start until July.
Back to April 21. Like many times before, the Thunder were in the playoffs. This time, they were facing the Portland Trail Blazers.
It was Game 4 of the first round in the NBA playoffs, and Oklahoma City was down 2-1 in the series.
They had a chance to even the series, but the basketball gods had other plans that evening.
Westbrook ended the night with 14 points, seven assists, and nine rebounds in the 111-98 loss.
George ended the game with 32 points and 11 rebounds.
