Chris Paul is no longer a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and The Athletic’s Shams Charania, OKC has reportedly traded Paul and Abdel Nader to the Phoenix Suns in return for Ricky Rubio, Kelly Oubre Jr., Ty Jerome, Jalen Lecque, and a 2022 first-round draft pick.

The initial reaction is that the Thunder got quite a good haul for a deemed unmovable player due to his contract and age just 16 months ago.
The Thunder will most likely look into flipping Rubio and Oubre Jr., whom both should draw a fair amount of interest from contending teams.
According to Charania, the Phoenix Suns‘ future first round pick going to the Thunder is protected 1-12 in 2022, 1-10 in 2023, 1-8 in 2024 and unprotected in 2025. That certainly reduces the value of that asset but given how many picks the Thunder have stockpiled and the potential to get even more in future moves it’s a reasonable concession to get the deal done.
