Thunder begin 2019 NBA Playoffs against Portland Trail Blazers

New, comments

So we head to the great Northwest.

As you are all aware by now, the 2019 NBA Playoffs are now set. In a strange and enjoyable exchange of events, the Portland headfaked everyone. Sitting near-all of their primary players, it appeared as if Portland had their eyes on facing the Utah Jazz in the first round, rather than deal with the Thunder, who swept the regular season series, 4-0.

But then things got nuts. From Blazers Edge:

The Portland Trail Blazers overcame a 28-point deficit to defeat the Sacramento Kings and end the season on the highest of notes. Terry Stotts only used a six-man rotation consisting of the rookies and deep bench players, but the scrappy unit willed itself to a win and secured the third seed for Portland.

I think everyone here thought we’d be rolling on the mat with the Rockets in round one, but in taking this pathway — with crew of guys who earned the right to hold onto the 3rd seed — they stay out of the Warriors bracket. Even if it means having to face the Thunder.

We’ll have a lot more to come in the next few days, but for now, here’s your first round schedule:

In the meantime, be sure to check out Blazers Edge, represent WTLC well, and get ready for some fun.
