The NBA 2019 All-Star Game is coming on us fast, and as you know from last year, new rules state that team captains would select the roster. The final rosters are now in (including an unprecedented twist) and starter Paul George will be joined by Russell Westbrook on Team Giannis.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had a simple reason for why he wanted George:

Meanwhile, Giannis had previously mentioned that he wanted to be a peacemaker, stating if he could, he would put beefing Westbrook and Joel Embiid on the same team.
“It’s all about love...I’m a lover, not a fighter.”
Well, it’s happening. In an unprecedented move, Giannis and LeBron made a draft-day trade (did Silver sign off on this one? Basketball reasons?), swapping Embiid’s teammate Ben Simmons for Westbrook.
The reactions:
He probably needed a nap after the deadline! ♂️

Meanwhile, PG is just happy Russ is on his team, and noted Russ should be especially happy about that as well:
