The Thunder and former Wizard forward Markieff Morris have agreed to terms for the rest of the season, according to Shams:
Markieff Morris had an aggressive market over the past week — with pursuits from the Thunder, Rockets, Nets, Raptors and several others. OKC received the commitment from Morris on Thursday. https://t.co/nTKdlSJSKX

Morris was traded out of a spiraling situation in Washington and immediately to another one in New Orleans, where he was bought out. In negotiation with a number of playoff-bound teams, he clearly positioned himself as a veteran who can help a competitive club.
In four seasons in Washington, Morris averaged nearly 13 ppg off of 46% shooting from the floor and 35% from three. Morris has not played since Dec. 19th due to a neck injury, but was recently cleared to play. He now joins a dynamic Thunder bench along side Dennis Schroder, Nerlens Noel, and may compete for minutes with Patrick Patterson. He can provide some scoring and defense, but the question remains whether he can shore up OKC’s bench rebounding issues.
It is unlikely Morris will suit up tonight, though he just has to walk from one locker room to the other.
