Russell Westbrook received a $10,000 fine and a postgame technical on Tuesday stemming from an altercation with Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert in Sunday’s Game 4. This was announced per a league release on Tuesday evening.
The fine may seem like a bad thing, but Westbrook could have been suspended for Wednesday’s Game 5, so this is much better than the alternative.

According to the league, the fine was for “initiating a confrontation”, rather than leaving the sideline, which many thought was the issue. Here’s the official release:
