The Oklahoma City Thunder wrap up their 3-game road trip tonight in Portland as they seek to take down the Trail Blazers, who are on a winning streak of their own. OKC is sitting on their own winning streak, but the opponents have been lottery teams; tonight they will be tested.
The biggest news coming into tonight are the following:
1. Carmelo Anthony is out:
Carmelo Anthony will not play tonight against Portland. First time this season Thunder has rested him on the second night of a back to back. ... In the three games this season Anthony has missed, Jerami Grant started once, Patrick Patterson twice.

2. Patrick Patterson will get the start:
Billy Donovan says Patrick Patterson will start at power forward for Carmelo Anthony.

3. Corey Brewer will be available for his first action with the Thunder:
Corey Brewer is active and will play tonight vs. Blazers.

OKC’s defense has been, we’ll put this generously, sporadic over the past 2 weeks. Tonight, if they expect to finish their back-to-back and road trip on a high note, they’d better come ready to defend and execute in the 2nd half. Given tonight’s roster shift, critical eyes shall be watching.
