Friday, the Oklahoma City Thunder released its 2017-18 preseason schedule.
Oklahoma City’s four-game exhibition ledger begins with an Oct 3 matchup against rival Houston from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Last season, the Thunder and Rockets battled fiercely before Houston downed Oklahoma City in first-round playoff action. Though, come early Oct, with each team sporting a new-look roster, the same intensity will remain as Westbrook and Harden remove summer rust.
On Oct 6, from Chesapeake Energy Arena, OKC welcomes conference rival New Orleans. During the 16-17 season, Billy Donovan’s men enjoyed a 4-0 sweep vs. the Pelicans.
This tilt is followed by a special Oct 8 Chesapeake meeting with NBL franchise Melbourne United. The Thunder joins Phoenix and Utah as NBA preseason hosts to Australian National Basketball League challengers Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.
Oklahoma City’s warm-up schedule concludes Oct 10 in the mile-high city vs. Denver. The Nuggets likely harbor unpleasant memories from Russell Westbrook’s record-setting —and playoff denying— April 9 masterpiece.
