Who the heck is this guy?

New, comments

You might be asking yourself, “Who the hell is this guy, and why is his big beautiful beard in my Thunder feed?” Well if that’s the case, then allow me to re-introduce myself. My name is Ryen Khoury (a.k.a MR. PAPPAGIORGIO). I’m the original founder of a little site you might know: WELCOME TO LOUD CITY.

Yes, you read that correctly. Welcome to Loud City is something that is very near and dear to my heart — because I created it — and something I let go of quite a long time ago. I did so for all the usual reasons bloggers enter and leave your feed: LIFE. Running and growing a blog such as this can be a very demanding, daunting, and quite frankly, tremendously time consuming. After a while, it just became too much and I ultimately had to step away because I just didn’t have the time live up to my own expectations anymore. A short time after having originally stepped down, I felt like it was time to give it a go once again, but that would prove to be short lived. I quickly up to my own standards just wasn’t possible with the time I had available, and so again, I stepped away. I’d rather not give you anything at all than something I’m not proud of, even if it is something goofy or silly.

So, of course, you might be asking yourself, “Okay, clearly this another comeback attempt, what is different this time?” You are definitely not out of line asking that question, and all I can tell you is, nothing really. The exception here is simply a desire for a creative outlet for my passion for writing (horribly, of course) and graphic work (even more horrible). Thankfully though, the great people now running the blog are allowing me to contribute at my own pace, whether it’s once a week, once a month, once every three months, or even five times in five days. They definitely may reconsider the five times in five days thing when they see the kind of silly stuff I put out there, but let’s just let that be our little secret for now.

As for what I want to bring to the table? I really want to bring more of the light-hearted, fun, and silly stuff I’m probably remembered for back to the blog. Yes, I might have shamelessly plugged our beloved Thunder Girls for views back in the day, or even photoshopped some fake comedic afros on real players just because, well, it was freakin’ awesome! Hey, its Nick Collison approved, see for yourself! I can see that the guys here do a really great job of providing deep dives, discussion and analysis, so I figure if I can do a good job at mixing in some fun stuff, we can have something even more special on our hands. That’s the hope anyway, even if there is a pretty real chance that you’ll hate everything I post, so I’ll be looking for your feedback in the comment section.

If you do remember some of my contributions from the past, what kinds of posts would you like to see from me? In addition to that, feel free to ask me anything in the comments below.

I do want to thank the WTLC staff for giving me the freedom and opportunity to once again be a part of this site. Feels good to be home, and thanks in advance for having me.
