Oklahoma City Thunder’s final 25 games; wins and losses prediction

New, comments

The Thunder are reconfigured and heading into the final stretch. How will they do?

NBA: Oklahoma City Thunder at Sacramento Kings Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

The Thunder resume the remainder of their season tonight as they face the Lakers, with two new players in Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott in tow, as well as the possibility of Enes Kanter’s return following a mishap. With 25 games remaining in the season, the Thunder sit at 32-25, good for 7th in the West. Higher seeds are within striking distance, as the 4th, 5th, and 6th seeds are all within 3.5 games. Can OKC make the leap and get out of a likely 1st round match-up against their big brothers, the Spurs?

Let’s take a look at the schedule. As of today, 538 predicts that OKC will grab 3 additional games above .500 to finish the season at 46-36 (one win better than the ill-fated 2014-15 season), still in 7th place. Can they do better than that?

Through no research-driven or technical analysis whatsoever, here are my predictions for the remaining 25 games, and as a bonus I will try to predict which games Russell Westbrook will earn a triple-double.
