I feel like I’ve written the same edition of Thunder Views ten times over the last few weeks. A hot start quickly turns into deteriorating play and efficiency on both ends of the floor. This time it was a 19-point first quarter lead vanishing over the next 9 minutes.
People will talk endlessly about this team’s current issues, and they should, there’s a lot of them. But for sanity’s sake, let’s just throw the normal Thunder Views format out the window. No sections today, just a series of Anchorman gifs representing how the Thunder make us feel. That sounds much better than picking apart why New Orleans outscored OKC 58-36 in the paint.
First off, six double digit leads turned into losses this season. SIX.
A 19-point lead right out of the gate, gone in 9 minutes.
BUT, OKC still led at half. So it’s not all bad, right?
And then DeMarcus Cousins got thrown out.
So you’re telling me Cousins was ejected in the third quarter, Russ had a triple-double, and Paul George had 26, but they still lost?
Yes, that’s correct.
Now the Thunder are 7-9 and welcome in the Warriors on Wednesday night.
So I know you’ve all heard it before, but remain calm, it’s still early in the season.
Or don’t. Maybe it’s time to panic.
