The Oklahoma City Thunder announced Sunday that second-year point guard, Cameron Payne was assigned to their D-League affilitate, the Oklahoma City Blue. The Thunder kick off a three game road swing in Milwaukee Monday night and return to Chesapeake Energy Arena to take on the Nuggets on January 7th.
In the meantime, the Blue will play in Salt Lake City Tuesday, at Reno on Thursday, then return to the Cox Convention Center with a match-up against Greensboro on Saturday the 7th. Payne tweeted “Jan 7th it’s gone be Lit!” but at this time it is unknown which game Payne will suit up for.
Whether Payne dresses north or south of Reno Ave matters little. What’s important is that he is playing again and will soon add much needed ball handling depth for the Thunder. A weakness exposed during Victor Oladipo’s recent stint on the DL.
HAPPY DANCE TIME!!!
