Sounds of Thunder: Tim Duncan Retires

After nineteen seasons Tim Duncan is walking away from pro basketball. An honored enemy is calling it a day and as always, he is doing it the right way:

Spurs have called a press conference Tuesday to address Tim Duncan's retirement. Tim Duncan will not be present. This is somehow perfect.

Now THAT is the classy way to hang it up. No Spur should ever wear 21 again. That number belongs among the stars at the highest point of AT&T Center because if there was ever a player deserving of that honor it is Tim Duncan. In this age of instant gratification and only looking out for number one, his kind may never be seen in professional sports again. We all lost something today.
