Kevin Durant's KD8 line of shoes at Nike is always at the cutting edge of design, and apparently his new post-season model takes things to the next level. As well as the next leg joint.

Durant's new shoe, called the KD8 Elite, will debut over the course of the next few weeks.

Here is where R.K. Anthony slips in a joke about maybe this style will keep Durant from losing his shoes during games.

From my perspective, it looks like this shoe was designed in Nathan Bateman's laboratory. I bet you can really tear up the dance floor with them!

From the Nike press release:

Created in collaboration with designer Leo Chang, the breakthrough basketball shoe features a calf-length compression sock, full-length visible Nike Zoom Air cushioning and Flywire technology with Kevlar® aramid fiber. Strategically placed non-stretch woven materials ensure a snug, secure fit while foam provides protection and comfort.

"Transitioning from a low to high is a decision we made with confidence based on our ongoing feedback from Durant to always push the limit on innovative design," says Chang.

"The KD8 Elite is conceptually designed to blur the lines between the shoe, sock and tight; seamlessly transitioning between each so you can’t differentiate where one begins and the other ends."

The shoe will come in 3 colorways - the white colorway arrives on April 14, the grey on May 5 and the black on May 26.
