OKC Thunder Podcast: Loud Noises - episode 13; Kevin Durant and the never-ending media beef

New, comments

In a special edition 3-man pod, Chris Hanneke, JA Sherman and Cray Allred cover Kevin Durant's latest brush with the media, Colin Cowherd and Jason Whitlock's absurd "momma's boy" segment, and the Cam Payne/Russell Westbrook friendship.

We're halfway through the season! We have a pretty clear picture of how this season should play out. The Warriors and Spurs will be the top 2 teams, with the Thunder close behind, and it will come down to a second-round series for OKC to prove they belong in the same conversation.

That's why - in the present - when the Thunder has a 4-0 week, we sort of just shrug our shoulders. There's only so much to talk about there, so we hope for some other form of content to come along so we can fill an episode of a podcast. Thankfully for us, Kevin Durant hears that talk of the Warriors and Spurs being the best and has his own opinions on the matter.

Also helpful to us was the fact that Jason Whitlock and Colin Cowherd did their usual thing of spewing nonsense to garner a reaction. It worked! We talked about it for like 15 minutes!

In truth, we really should appreciate the fact that the on-court product has been so good, and that we can spend time talking about external stuff like this. That stuff was so juicy this week, though, that I needed two guests to digest it all, so I brought in our own J.A. Sherman and Cray Allred to break it all down.

And when you get a chance, check out Cray's wonderful written reaction to the matter.
