Christon and Gaines lead the way for the Thunder in the Orlando Summer league.

The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Charlotte Hornets 76-74 in their first game of Summer League in Orlando. The Thunder will receive 6.5 points for their win, while Charlotte accumulates 1.5 for the loss.

The Thunder were led by great performances by Semaj Christon and Frank Gaines - both played for the Oklahoma City Blue last season. Christon racked up a 14 point, 10 assist double double and looked very much in control of the offense. Gaines put in 17 points, including some big baskets down the stretch.

The two teams traded baskets throughout the game. There were 20 lead changes and 16 ties throughout the course of the game. Frank Kaminsky, who looked tremendous in his NBA debut, missed a contested jumper as time expired.

It was apparent throughout that Mitch McGary looked much more comfortable moving around the court. When asked postgame McGary said that he had lost "about 30 pounds" since last season. He's improved his diet, even taking cooking classes. McGary went on to say "I feel like I'm in the best shape since before my back surgery."

The next game for Oklahoma City is Monday at 3pm ET against the Orlando Blue team.
