The Thunder are very serious about a championship next season, and are already holding unofficial preparations. According to NewsOK, ten of the Thunder's 14 active roster players gathered in Los Angeles for a voluntary workout. The workout is started on July 21st and is expected to continue through July 22nd or 23rd. Reportedly, there are "a load of teammates and support staff" helping the workouts along. Back on July 20th, KD and Westbrook went through a day of drills in front of Coach Donovan.
It's worth noting that this is the first practice for Cameron Payne with the rest of the team. Payne was unable to participate in the Orlando Summer League due to a fractured ring finger. It also may be the first practice Kevin Durant has been able to participate in since foot surgery on March 31st. This also may be Serge Ibaka's first practice with the team since Ibaka went down with a knee injury on March 16th.
Who was absent? Enes Kanter, Mitch McGary, Steve Novak, and Andre Roberson. Kanter is fresh off signing a 4 year, $70 Million deal with the Thunder on July 12th. As of July 18th, Enes Kanter is in Turkey. Mitch McGary was last seen in Oklahoma City on July 17th. Steve Novak is currently running a Shooting Camp in Rye Brook, NY. The whereabouts of Andre Roberson are not publicly known.
Second round pick Dakari Johnson was also not present, which may bode badly for his chances of being signed by OKC. Josh Huestis, a former first round pick whom has been promised a Thunder roster spot, was also not present.
