Payne certainly likes to talk about himself in the third person.

Cameron Payne is the perfect player to be Russell Westbrook's backup.  Confidence will be overflowing from Oklahoma City.

The Thunder selected the mid-major point guard with the 14th pick, a selection that did not surprise nor anger any fans.  Payne is pure talent, and he isn't afraid to tell everyone about it.

He said "there is no ceiling for Cameron Payne" shortly after being picked.

Payne is being put in a winning situation immediately, and he is excited to be apart of a title contending team.  "I'm looking forward to getting back there (the Finals), and I'm looking forward to being a part of that."  After being asked about playing with elite players like Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, Payne face lit up.  "They're going to make me a better player 100 percent," Payne said.  "Like I said, God did it for a reason."

When he was asked about learning from Westbrook, Payne said, "He stops and pops great.  He's got one of the best mid-range games in the league right now.  I need to add that to my game instead of shooting the floater all the time."

Payne has been targeted by the Thunder for a while, and he said that he has been in touch with Thunder personnel.  "I definitely talked to Billy (Donovan), and I definitely talked to Sam (Presti).  Sam is my guy.  We talked a lot when I went down there and met with them.  I had a blast down there in OKC.
