Billy Donovan says goodbye to his former team.

Mark D. Smith-USA TODAY Sports

On Sunday, Former Florida Gators head coach and current Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Billy Donovan and his wife took out an entire page in the Gainesville Sun to thank their fans for being supportive. Donovan coached the Gators from 1996-2015 and led the team to back-to-back NCAA titles in 2006 and 2007.

"We leave with hearts full of love and cherished memories of euphoria and heartbreak -on and off the court - shared at every step with our Gator family,"  Donovan and his wife said. "Until we meet again, may god hold you in the palm of his hand."

Such an impressive action by both Donovan and his wife, which made us happy as well, as Thunder fans to have such a coach who values and highly appreciates the aspects around him. On top of that, I believe these types of emotional and mental traits had absolutely influenced Sam Presti's decision in terms of hiring a new head-coach for the team because these qualities will be reflected on the squad and it will make them united and mentally ready to ride on the road of succession and win a championship.
