On this edition of the Phil Naessens Show, we reflect on the Thunder's latest winning streak and how things are coming together. Russell Westbrook fuels the fire, but is his performance MVP-worthy? Naessens puts forth an argument on his site and on the show that says otherwise:
I think the NBA MVP of 2015 should be LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Not to take anything away from those other great NBA players because you can’t; those young fellas have made basketball exciting this season. Each of them has led their respective teams to where they stand today. Each of those young men deserves to be holding the Maurice Podolof Trophy at the end of the season and more than likely will at some point in their careers.
None of those great NBA players have altered the season of two teams like LeBron James has this season. No other NBA player has been able to play teams like a fiddle the way that James has been able to do either.
Without LeBron James the Cleveland Cavaliers most likely would be a lottery team once again. The trade for Kevin Love probably wouldn’t have happened nor would the trades that brought in Timofey Mosgov, Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith.
