Thunder vs. Clippers, Final Score: Oklahoma City Crushes Los Angeles

New, comments

In what was expected to be one of the better games of the day, ended up being a complete blowout with the Oklahoma City Thunder destroying the Los Angeles Clippers, 131-108.

Box Score | Clip's Nation

This was supposed to be the marquee game of the morning/afternoon, but instead we had a game in which the Oklahoma City Thunder absolutely walked all over the Los Angeles Clippers, 131-108.  This win has the Thunder only 2.5 games behind the Phoenix Suns for the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

What is your initial reaction to tonight's result?

This might have been the most complete game the Thunder have played all year.  They were missing Kendrick Perkins and Anthony Morrow from the outset, then later Steven Adams for the second half.  They took advantage of the Clippers not having Blake Griffin, destroying the Clippers on the boards, .  Kevin Durant was amazing, Mitch McGary showed exactly why he's going to be a solid rotation player for the Thunder in the coming years and Reggie Jackson came back!

What was, overall, the main reason why the Thunder won?

Team play: great ball movement, solid defense, Durant having an MVP type performance, Jackson providing solid play off the bench and then Mitch McGary being the man.

Nesgoda's Awards

Thunder Wonder: Kevin Durant wins this one. He had 29 points on 67% shooting from the field, was perfect from the line while adding six assists and five rebounds.

Thunder Down Under: Mitch McGary had his first career everything today really, first double-double, first standing ovation, first look at his long term potential to replace future head coach Nick Collison and Kendrick Perkins. He finished with 19 points and ten rebounds.  Both were career highs.

Thunder Blunder: I'm going to pick on Russell Westbrook and his five turnovers here.

Thunder Plunderer: Chris Paul had 18 points and 13 assists in his typical performance against the Thunder.

Best Dressed on the Bench: Anthony Morrow.  He might be the best dressed injured guy in the history of the league.
