It might not show up in the official stats, but Rodney Hood has an additional assist to the one recorded in last night's Thunder/Jazz game thanks to Russell Westbrook. Russ used the back of Hood to set up his buzzer beating shot to end the first half.
The timing here is amazing. Russ catches seven-foot Jeff Withey in the air as he's doing jumping jacks to defend the inbounds pass. That opens the split second window to bounce it off Hood's back for the self-assist, but Russ also had to aim it towards a part of his back that would properly repel the ball. And then Westbrook makes the dang shot.
THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN!
