What a difference a week makes. After a 3-0 start that featured a huge win against San Antonio, the Thunder followed that up with 3 straight losses. More frustrating than the losses themselves was the fact that they seemed to be happening because of the same issues that have plagued the Thunder seemingly forever: Turnovers, questionable rotations, favoring one guy and unnecessarily benching another, and shaky late-game execution.
There was always going to be a learning curve for Billy Donovan coming from college to the NBA, and the first 3 games distracted from that. With the Thunder sitting at 4-3, and with Anthony Morrow relegated occupying Jeremy Lamb's spot on the bench, the question becomes, "Is Donovan working things out, or is he in over his head?" I talked with our own Joey Conger about those questions and more.
Then, from our SB Nation Wizards site, Bullets Forever, Jake Whitacre joined the show to talk about the Thunder's trip to Washington DC tomorrow night. Just how reasonable is the KD to DC speculation, and how do the Wizards stack up to the Thunder?
Lastly, great news... The Loud Noises podcast is now on iTunes! You can subscribe here. Thanks everybody for your support so far. Like Billy D, I've got a learning curve, too, but I'm learning new things each week so please keep checking back for new episodes every Monday.
