Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer posted a column today purporting that Dion Waiters wanted to go to the Philadelphia 76ers after this season. Pompey cited a source close to Waiters.
To be clear, Waiters is a restricted free agent, and the Thunder could match any offer. But the 76ers have the room to give Waiters a massive contract. Furthermore, Philadelphia is where Waiters grew up.
But Waiters was quick to dispel the rumors on Twitter, just an hour or so later.
Dnt Believe everything y'all hear lol I guess this what the world coming to smh especially if it didn't come from me.

Over the Summer, the Thunder had an opportunity to extend Waiters contract. However, the two parties couldn't come to an agreement by November.
Nine games into this season, Waiters is averaging 11 points a game on 45% shooting. It's been the most efficient season of Waiters' career, and he's regularly getting crunch time minutes with the starters. Waiters will clearly have a role on the Thunder for the duration of the season. However, it remains to be seen whether the former #4 pick will continue to be happy with that role.
