The best of Russell Westbrook's Reddit AMA

Reddit is becoming an ever more popular social media platform on the internet. Basically, it's a big forum where anonymous people can talk about their favorite topics.  The most popular comments for a certain topic are upvoted, and rise to the top. Russell Westbrook created his own topic on reddit today for an "ask me anything". Fans with the most popular questions on Reddit got to have them answered by Russ. Westbrook kicked things off by tweeting a photo of himself chilling by a lake:

There were tons of questions, but a lot of them were rehashes of what we've heard elsewhere. After trimming the fat, here's 14 of Westbrook's best responses:

1. Posterize who?

This was an amazing way to kick things off. Classic Russ. Short and to the point. Don't be coming in here with those silly queries!

2. Video Game Memories

For the uninformed, Goldeneye 007 is a first person shooter released in 1997. It was exclusive to the Nintendo 64. Goldeneye is widely considered to be the game that popularized local split screen multiplayer. There were certainly multiplayer first person shooters before Goldeneye, but it was one of the first successful ones for a console. Goldeneye made it really easy for four people to hook up four controllers to an N64 and play on one TV.

I'm a Goldeneye fan as well. When it was first released, I remember how amazed I was when a bullet I shot would make a bullethole on the wall. Realism! Awesome to know Westbrook played the same game we all did.

3. Fashion Inspirations

Given how adventurous Westbrook's fashion sense is, this is no surprise. But it's still cool to see just how transparent Westbrook was here.

4. The Unanswerable Question

Westbrook gave no response, despite a high number of upvotes.

5. Best local restaurants

As we all know, Chick-Fil-A is amazing. I'm all about that spicy chicken sandwich with extra pickles.

Fabulous Burgers, on the other hand, is a Los Angeles-only chain with four locations. The chain serves a mix of diner food, mexican food, and deli food. That means there's burgers, pastrami, steak, tacos, burritos, and chicken all on the same menu. Russ must love to get his grub on.

6. Reasonable Shoes?

Westbrook has his own line of shoes with Jordan brand, so it's really real of him to point out a different shoe. The shoe Westbrook is referring to is the Adidas Pro model. It's a very basic model, and can be found on eBay for prices ranging from $10-60. Given that new basketball shoes can cost in the hundreds, it's awesome to see Westbrook prefer performance over fashion.

As a side note, I wore the Adidas pro model as a basketball and everyday shoe for about 3 or 4 years. I liked the shoe so much that I went through 3 or 4 different pairs.

7. Is he a fan of other sports?

Westbrook's love for bowling is already known. Every April for the past five years, Westbrook has hosted a "Why Not?" bowling charity event. Proceeds from the event benefit his "Why Not?" foundation. The foundation focuses on community-based education and family service programs. During the event last year, Westbrook admitted that he had his own bowling ball and shoes. Predictably, he's the best bowler on the Thunder by far.

As far as I know, Westbrook's love of tennis is new to us.

8. The 2012 NBA Finals are just like yesterday

Obviously, the image is a bit cryptic. But some sleuthing found me the original play. It was a dunk from Game 6 of the 2012 Western Conference Finals, when the Thunder closed out the Spurs.

At that time, the Thunder were at the peak of their strength. But many would argue that Westbrook is a much better player now. Russ' selection of this play is very telling about where he wants this team to go.

9. Double Entendre

Either Westbrook is a huge Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan, or he is a cheese connoisseur. It has to be one or the other.

10. Photoshop is not real life, sadly

Too bad he didn't ask whether Westbrook would have liked to ride a shark. Or a chihuahua, perhaps?

12. What is food?

I'm so confused. What are regular eggs? Why does he put burritos in his cheeseburger?

13. Life Choices

At least he wouldn't be a grumpy policeman.

14. It's still two seasons away, but....
