This week on the Phil Naessens Show, we were surprised by the trade that brings Dion Waiters to the Thunder. What does this mean for OKC? Here is what Phil writes:

I'm sure the Oklahoma City Thunder believes they got the better end of this trade and maybe they did; but adding Dion Waiters isn't going to solve their problems nor will it all of a sudden propel the Thunder to the upper echelons of the NBA Western Conference.

A better trade for the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Cleveland Cavaliers would have been to swap Thunder coach Scott Brooks for Cavaliers coach David Blatt.

Brooks would make the perfect yes man to LeBron James and the going nowhere Cavaliers and Blatt would bring an actual offensive system to the catch and chuck brothers (Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant).

An even better trade for the Thunder would be for a big man who can score the basketball. Maybe even a little defense would also be nice. The Thunder currently are dead last in the NBA in points in the paint (30 per game) and currently have an in the paint defensive efficiency rating of -6.

If the cheapskate Oklahoma City Thunder ownership was going to crack the luxury tax they should have done so with someone that can actually help the catch and chuck Brothers by playing a little defense and not allowing these sorts of things to happen.

Instead what the Oklahoma City Thunder got is an extremely talented yet highly temperamental shooting guard who talks a better game than he plays.

Listen in to the show and tell us what you think!
