Our own Craig Brenner got a chance to ask a few questions of Steven Adams after today's BBVA Rising Stars Challenge. Coming off the bench for team Webb, Adams logged 6 points on 3-3 shooting, 2 Rebounds, 2 Steals, and 4 Blocks. Below you'll find the text of Craig's questions, as well as video of the entire session. -Z
Craig Brenner: Can you just talk about how this season's been for you, as a rookie, as a lottery pick, with expectations on you, with a really good team around you. Especially with the players on your team, like Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and Reggie Jackson.
Steven Adams: Well, when I got drafted to the Thunder.... The whole organization is very, very professional. Like, they hold themselves to a very high standard. Those are the expectations that you actually have to meet. So when coming up, that was what I had to do. And the team. All the same system. They're all committed towards it. So it was easy for me to grow accustomed to it because even I was doing the same stuff. So that's what I think helped me progress fast. Because everyone was just really working hard. So I just try to work hard and fully commit to the coaches. Because they know what's up.
Brenner: What areas of your game would you like to improve upon in the second half of the season? Is it maybe playing defense without picking up too many fouls, offense?
Adams: Defense. It's just defense. The whole season has all been defense. I've been getting better at it, but it's still not up to par with what it should be.
Brenner: Do you think that the offense will take care of itself then, too?
Adams: I mean....if you've got Kevin Durant on the team. Yeah. It'll take care of itself.
