On this episode of the Phil Naessens Show, I sadly have to eat some crow as the Thunder failed to pull off the upset win over the NBA-leading Golden State Warriors, falling just short once again. We break down what happened in the 4th and who were the primary culprits. We also get into the blockbuster Mavericks-Celtics trade that is sending All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo to the already loaded team in Dallas.
This is what Naessens has to say:
After years it seems of putting up with rumors about the Boston Celtics trading star point guard Rajon Rondo it took Dallas Maverick's owner Mark Cuban to finally give Celtics General Manager Danny Ainge what he wanted and just like that Rondo is now a Dallas Maverick.
The Dallas Mavericks Trade for Rajon Rondo is Money Baby!
It also put the rest of the NBA on notice; the Dallas Mavericks intend to compete for the NBA title and they expect to do it now.
Unlike some NBA owners who shall remain nameless Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban only cares about winning championships and he demonstrated that on Thursday when he acquired Rondo.
Like the maverick he is he basically gave up nothing and acquired a perennially All Star for a couple of picks and players with no future in the Dallas Mavericks plans.
If I'm Dirk Nowitzki, Chandler Parsons, Tyson Chandler or Monte Ellis I'm smiling right about now.
