Phil Naessens Show: the Thunder trouble grows; is Scott Brooks the problem?

New, comments

This week on the Phil Naessens Show, we assess the growing damage the Thunder are doing to their regular season.

The Thunder sit in the basement of the West at a 3-9 record, and there are no easy wins in sight. This week on the Phil Naessens Show, we discuss what problems exist and which are fixable. Is it a Scott Brooks problem? A Reggie Jackson problem? Naessens thinks the problems are too great to repair:

I hate to break it to Thunder fans but Serge Ibaka and Reggie Jackson aren't going to carry a NBA team to a .500 record.

I really like Steven Adams but he would barely see the floor on any of the top teams in the West and some expect him to carry an injury riddled Thunder team.

Anthony Morrow has never averaged more than 13 points per game over seven NBA seasons. How is he all of a sudden going to carry a scoring challenged NBA team like the Thunder?

Kendrick Perkins can barely carry himself down the floor let alone carry an NBA team missing two of the top five players in the NBA like the Thunder.

Sebastian Telfair? Lance Thomas? Perry Jones? Ish Smith? Andre Roberson? Fringe NBA players at best or barely tested rookies expected to win NBA games in the tough NBA Western Conference.

Scott Brooks isn't at fault for not winning games with this bunch folks.

For that matter Brooks won't be at fault when the Thunder doesn't make the playoffs this season. No matter how bad an X and O's coach Brooks is, and he is awful at it, he isn't the reason the Thunder are where they are.

Welcome to the NBA Thunder fans.
