Apparently this NBA video series featuring Steven Adams and Reggie Jackson is a thing, and I for one could not be happier.
In the first video, we saw Adams and Jackson learn how to communicate in code on the court. It is light-hearted and clever, but what we at WTLC learned in discussion was that those little looks and head nods are actually a much more indigenous and intricate way in which Kiwis communicate.
Now, we've got Adams and Jackson talking about the difficulties in playing pick-up hoops in New Zealand, and this video has a much more serious tone to it. Jackson ribs Adams a little bit, but Adams looks and sounds quite serious in his responses, all the way up to when he tells Jackson that he's not ready to cut it on the NZ playground. Obviously these spots are scripted to some degree, but this is a rare time when we see the seriousness of Adams when talking about his homeland.
h/t to Bondom34 for spotting the video.
