Via Nike.com:

"Nike stands with Kevin Durant to support the victims of the Oklahoma tornadoes. Nike will donate $1M worth of Nike products to those affected by the tornadoes, and all profits from Oklahoma City KD V Elites sold on Nike.com and in Nike Retail Stores between May 23 and June 15 will be donated equally between KaBOOM!, a national non-profit that builds playgrounds for children in need, and the Moore Public School Foundation, an Oklahoma non-profit that supports the Moore Public School District."

The important thing here is the date: June 15th. That's this Friday. So basically, you have until then to snag some brand new basketball shoes and not feel guilty afterwards. Yeah, there's only one colorway. Yeah, the shoe is a bit pricey, especially if you only play basketball on weekends. But it's a very rare opportunity to give to a charity while getting something back, even if it's a shoe that you only wear once a week.

I should also note that this isn't just any shoe, this is a KD V! You're supporting the best scorer in the NBA, and the player who has been hugely responsible for a lot of fun we've had over the past five years. Also, the shoe apparently has a bunch of intense technology that will propel your game to another level. Everyone will scream, "IS IT THE SHOES?!" Well, they'll more likely scream, "IT IS THE SHOES, YOU LUCKY DUCK" because we all know that your actual game is garbage without these KD Vs.

But seriously, if you live in the metro area, you've probably seen the devastation firsthand. It's not a pretty sight, but we've seen Moore make amazing recoveries from devastating tornadoes before, and I'm sure they will again. Kevin Durant donated a huge chunk of change to help with the recovery, and this further gesture just goes to show how much he cares about the community. If you do end up buying this shoe, you'll definitely have reason to wear it with pride.

You can buy the shoe here.

And if you would like to donate in another way, you can always text Red Cross to 90999.

Also, keep on the lookout for a KD V Elite review from yours truly, coming soon.
