Coach Nick of BBallBreakdown is back with his hoops analysis of Team USA's previous game against Tunisia. This is part I of his analysis, so we will be sure to post part II when it is available.
The two elements taken to task here are:
- Quick shots on offense, especially from the perimeter.
- Sub-par transition defense, especially by the starting five.
One element that surprised me however was Chris Paul's struggles against a clearly overmatched Tunisia team. CP3 is arguably the best point guard in the NBA, but he is finding it difficult to get into the lane to create space for his shooters like he normally does in the league. It might work better to simply have LeBron James run the point and then just surround him with perimeter shooters and rebounders.
