OKC Loud Links: Team USA 3-0

New, comments

Team USA Hulk-smashed the British in London yesterday, running their pre-tournament record to 3-0. The team continues to run through whatever options it deems necessary to defeat their opponents. James Harden finally got in on the action, Russell Westbrook finished plays with panache and Deron Williams finally got his perimeter game going. In the end it was a 40 point win and a step in the right direction.

On a more serious note, we have to mention the tragedy that happened in Aurora, CO last night when a gunman opened fire in a movie theater as a packed house settled in to watch the new Batman movie. The story is horrific, and as you'll see below there are some connections to the sports community. Harden reacted on Twitter, as did Maynor and Thabeet.

Ted Leonsis Interview | Bullets Forever

Wizards owner Ted Leonsis gave a wide-ranging interview to the Washington Post, and hopefully it comes across that the guy is smart, cares about his team, and knows how to build something worth while. Officiating Rule Changes are Coming | Sports Illustrated

One of the big changes will be that referees can now review goal-tending calls. There is really no downside to this change, especially because they can review plays during game stoppage, just like they do when there's a question of whether a 3-point shooter had his toe on the line.
