Multiple people are reportedly injured after a shooting in Bricktown Monday night just minutes after the OKC Thunder clinched game five over the Lakers.
Around 11:30 p.m. multiple gun shots were reported near Mickey Mantle Drive and Reno Avenue in downtown Oklahoma City.
Witnesses say fans were celebrating the win and walking to their vehicles when six shots rang out and two people were shot.
One man and one woman were hit, but their conditions are not known at this time.
Yep, someone decided to ruin everyone else's fun by pulling out a gun. In the words of the Notorious B.I.G.:
"You got a gun up in your waist? Please don't shoot up the place! Because I see some ladies tonight that should be having my baby. Baby."
For those of you who don't know the geography of Oklahoma City, the place of the shooting was about three or four blocks from Thunder Alley. It's near a large movie theatre and overlooks the canal, so it can be considered a main square of sorts. Many people were undoubtedly walking to their cars parked at Bass Pro Shop, or to the many bars and restaurants in the surrounding area.
Stay safe out there guys. Here's hoping that everybody in the situation gets out okay, and that Thunder Alley survives into the conference finals. Basketball is just a game, life is much more important.
