The regular season is done and it is time for us all to look ahead to the first round of the 2012 NBA Playoffs. It is now being reported that the NBA has scheduled for the Thunder to open their first round series on Saturday, April 28.

As for the opponent, since the Nuggets won last night and are clearly pushing to hold onto the 6th seed, it is likely that they will defeat the Timberwolves tonight to remove all doubt. The only way the currently 7th seeded Mavericks can jump the Nuggets is if Denver loses tonight and Dallas wins. Given that Minnesota is currently 1-11 for the month of April, I don't see an upset in the making. Dallas looks to be the 1st round opponent.

Game times have not yet been released, but given that an OKC-Dallas 1st round series would be a rematch of last season's Western Conference Finals, it is reasonable to think that this game will be featured in a prime time TV slot. Start to plan accordingly, stock up on your nachos, favorite grilled meat/veggies, and cold beverage, and let's get ready for what should be a highly competitive first round.
