Russell Westbrook Buries Three, Lakers

New, comments

Russell Westbrook has been on a tear as of late, and his buzzer-beating 3-pulled off at the end of the 3rd quarter was a thing of beauty (and aggression). With under 3 seconds remaining, Westbrook managed to take the baseline in-bounds pass, fake Kobe Bryant out of his socks, and then get himself in position to attempt a very makable shot at the buzzer. Westbrook's ability to just get a great look at the rim in so little time was as impressive as his making the shot itself.

I also watch this shot with a bit of bittersweet reflection, because there was a time in Kobe's life when the roles were reversed. Not so long ago, he was the young aggressor faking some veteran out of his skin and then burying a soul-crushing shot at the buzzer. Circle of life, and all that.
