Thunder finally showed a measure of resolve against a weaker team last night, crushing the Bobcats by 27 on their home court. After a shaky opening quarter where we again saw a few of the common issues that plague the Thunder, in the second we got an early-game dose of what OKC has been doing at the end of games.
Rather than wait until the end, the Thunder ratcheted up their defense a bit earlier in outscoring the Bobcats 30-15 in the second quarter, which effectively put the game out of reach. After that point on, the Bobcats simply did not have enough offensive or defensive talent to make the game competitive again. As a result, the Thunder coasted the rest of the way, with the bench taking them home in the 4th.
