Friday night, at home, Thunder will wear its new alternate uniforms. Navy blue and white, classic look, vertical lettering. Jerseys go on sale online later today and exclusively in ThunderShops at Chesapeake Arena and Leadership Square starting at 8am Friday.

What we've long suspected has finally become a reality. The Thunder officially announced the world's worst kept secret today, releasing photos of Thunder players modelling the new duds. This will be one of two unique Thunder jerseys to debut this season, with the other being some light blue and orange uniforms that will make an appearance on Christmas day. As the Thunder are only in their fifth year, this season is the first time the Thunder have had alternate jerseys of any kind.

Now that we get to see these uniforms in their entirety, my opinion of them is about the same. The only real complaint I'd have at this point is the stupid cursive font "Oklahoma City" across the back of the shorts. It just reminds me of a tramp stamp or a thong. Don't ask me why, but I know I'm not the first. Also, according to our own Bill Champion, the font is nearly the same as that of local private school Casady.

Regardless, the uniforms are solid, and a lot better than the home and away jerseys that we've had to deal with over the past 5 years. Certainly a lot better than the logo. They employ a classic, simplistic look that doesn't really pinpoint them to any particular time period, yet they come off looking semi-modern. And thankfully, they don't look anything like SuperSonic uniforms. But they do have their detractors, like our own commenter Slackator, who has gone on record calling them "Indianapolis Colts Basketball Jerseys". Belt declared that they looked like his High School's uniforms.

One thing we can all be thankful for is that uniforms are not misspelled. That being said, the uniforms will debut against the blue-uniformed Pistons, so everybody is going to have a hard time distinguishing just who plays for who.
