Kevin Durant Named Player of the Week

Congratulations to Kevin Durant, who has been named the Western Conference player of the week for the second time this season. He joins Carmelo Anthony in winning the honor, which recognizes the best player of the week from April 4 through April 10.

Durant led the Thunder to four huge wins this past week, which were comprised of two wins against the charging Nuggets, last night's big win against the Lakers, and a payback win against the Clippers. He averaged 30.0 points and 6.8 rebounds, and has the team smelling a higher seed as the league enters its final week of regular season of play.

If you're keeping score, this will likely give Russell Westbrook four Player of the Week awards, and Kevin Durant two, for the 2010-2011 season. In other words, over the course of a 24 week season, an OKC player was considered the absolute best the West had to offer 25% of the time. Well done.
