We've seen these guys before, and we've managed to win against them without Carmelo, but have been obliterated by them when they do have Carmelo. This game kind of falls in-between both situations. They have Carmelo, but they have lost two straight against the Lakers and Suns, respectively. They also had a pretty rough January, having 7 wins and 5 losses, something that really shouldn't happen to a team that's talking title. Carmelo Anthony, Chris Andersen, and Chauncy Billups are all starting to show flaws.
Of course, this would be the game where they start to pick it back up. It's prefect timing. The team is rested, they're at home, and they're facing a hot team that is a proven inferior. It is for this reason that I'm predicting a loss. Don't get me wrong, if we can keep Carmelo under 27 or so, our big three can all score over 15, and if JR Smith is negated by James Harden off the bench, then I think we have a more than solid chance of winning this game. Still, I just have trouble thinking the Nuggets won't get back on their feet.
Prediction: Denver 100, Oklahoma City 97
