It seems that just yesterday that the season started, but we're already 15 games in and ready to take on the Mavericks in hopes of our 11th win.
Right now our record is 10 and 4, 10-4? Okay, maybe that joke was going a bit too far. Regardless, while this season's 3-3 start wasn't the most welcome of records, I'd say the Thunder have successfully rebounded to do just as well as we thought they would. About a Mid-Seed in the Western Conference. Still, if we want to go a step further and push ourselves into the Western Conference Elite, a good place to start would be a win over the equally successful Mavericks.
Most games against the Mavericks in the past have been high scoring and closely contested. I wouldn't expect any differences here. The Mavericks have no defensive answer for Durant, while the Thunder have no defensive Answer for Nowitzki. Jason Kidd and Russell Westbrook will trade baskets, and the rest of the team will fall into place. I think the key for both teams is finding a reliable third scorer, and getting solid production from the bench. Either way, this game will come down to the absolute wire, and, in my opinion, it'a a coin flip between these two teams. But with last night's struggle against the Pistons and recent losses to the Hornets and Hawks, I'm having a tough time seeing Dallas winning this game. In the end, the Thunder's defense pulls through and we win....
Prediction: Oklahoma City 113, Dallas 111
