This is a very different Thunder team indeed, games like this just wouldn't have gone our way 2 month ago. The Golden State Warriors are a team that likes to run & gun, and for a young Thunder team, coach Scott Brooks cautioned his team about getting caught up in playing the Warriors type of ballgame. The Thunder fell into that trap, but responded with its highest scoring output of the season.
After a dismal 3rd quarter in which the Thunder fell behind by 6 points entering the 4th quarter, they found themselves in familiar territory when Jamal Crawford took the ball coast to coast after a missed shot by the Thunder with under 10 seconds to play and the Warriors took the lead by 1 point with 1.6 seconds to play. Of course with only 1.6 seconds left, Westbrook was looking to get the ball to Durant, but KD was covered, and Green came free, he caught the ball and threw up a solid jump shot that went down, and the Thunder celebrated their buzzer beater victory!
If you look at the box score tonight, the numbers are pretty even, but the Thunder kept the slight edge on the boards, and behind the 3 point line. Coming up big tonight was RW0 with a career high 30 points, followed by Durant with 27, and Green with 26. I gotta tell you, that's a 3 headed monster that will be wreaking havoc in the NBA for many years to come, and if you have all three players scoring 25 points or more, its going to be extremely difficult for you to come away with a win against this team. This is a big road win for the Thunder, and possibly the beginning of a group of games that the Thunder can walk away with wins each and every night.
Tonights Final Score: 122-121
