Gameday: @ Washington Wizards (4-23)

okcatwasThe Thunder are coming off what might be their toughest loss of the season, last night on the road against the Detroit Pistons. The Thunder controlled the tempo all night and entered the 4th quarter flat once again, but went on a hellacious tear to tie up the game with just seconds left and had to watch as Allen Iverson threw up a ridiculous shot to take the lead with .3 seconds. The Thunder set up a brilliant in-bound alley for the tie, but the ball was just off of Jeff Greens Fingertips. The Wizards are coming off an equally heartbreaking game as they just blew a 7 point lead the Cavaliers and lost the game on an 0-11 run. Both teams are coming into this game with the worst records in each conference, so I guess you can call this a battle for the title of worst team in the NBA.

The Thunder have been playing really good basketball the past couple of weeks, but have just been unable to finish off their opponents, save for the Raptors at home last Friday. The Wizards are a team that the Thunder should definitely be able to go in and get the win against tonight, but they are also playing against a little history momentum from the Wizards. Washington has taken 4 straight games from the Thunder/Seattle Franchise, and will be highly motivated after the loss against the Cavs to make it five in a row. Look for the Thunder to continue their dominance of late on the boards, and for Kevin Durant, and Jeff Green to step up in their home areas.

We need this win tonight boys, if we can't beat the Wests worst, its going to hurt. Tipoff: 6pm Local Time.

Well if there was any doubt left as to whether or not our Oklahoma City Thunder squad was the worst team in the league or not, there certainly isn’t any doubt after tonight.

We are the WORST team in the league. As we move out of 2008 and into 2009, I’m fully expecting Sam Presti to shuffle this team up. Wilcox, Watson, Smith, and possibly a few others are going to be moved before the deadline if for nothing else to keep the fans coming to see some different players. After, the team can’t get much worse, no matter who they get in return for those guys.

It really is just such a disappointing loss. At least we have the Thunder Girl of the Week Post to look forward to tomorrow. :p
