The Thunder make the travel to Atlanta tomorrow night for a 6pm tipoff against the 17-10 Atlanta Hawks. Don't let that overall record fool you though, because the Hawks have won 10 of their last 11 games at home, and guess who their only loss against? None other than the defending World Champion, and currently 26-2 Boston Celtics. So its pretty safe to say aside from losing from quite possibly one of the greatest teams in NBA History, the Hawks are diggin' playing at home, 11-2 overall this season.
Our boys have a lot to feel good about though heading into tonights game, they finally broke their losing streak on Friday against the Raps, and played strong all game against the Cavs, arguably one of the leagues best teams. On top of that the Thunder played the Hawks tough earlier this year in the Ford Center, but suffered a hard fought, four point loss. The Hawks are 12 point favorates, but if the Thunder can continue their high level of play, watch out, because the Hawks may overlook the leagues worst record and focus on preparing for Detroit, Friday. The Hawks will have Josh Smith this time around, as he was injured the Friday before the Hawks made the trip to OKC last time, so that will definitely change the dynamics.
The Key to the game for the Thunder is keeping tight pressure on Joe Johnson and get Wilcox involved early down low. Look for Wilcox to play a bigger role tonight as Nick Collison will likely be out nursing a recently broken bone in his left thumb. Tight defense and improved shooting percentage could lead to an upset, lets hope the Thunder can get it done.
