I've seen almost every one on OKC thrown around in trade rumors. Reggie Jackson, Perk, PJ3, Lamb, everyone to try and retool our team. I think our most valuable assets are our two picks in the first round this year. And we can use them, along with some players, to swing this big deal.
From a draft pick standpoint, I think #21 and #29 is more than enough for pick 16. With that pick, I say we target Adreian Payne. He definitely will be around I believe, and could fill a void at center because he stretches the floor with his jumper and is 10x more athletic that Kendrick Perkins. (This scenario assumes Perkins is amnestied.)
Now it gets interesting.
Reggie Jackson stated he wants to start. While I personally loved the way he played in the the playoffs, I don't think he and RW can mesh long term because of Russ' ball heavy tendancies and both of their jumpers (lack thereof) cause spacing problems. While Jimmy Butler didn't shoot well from three, he shot 38% from deep in 2012. He's an athletic 2 who was just named a 2nd team all defense member. Him and Westbrook could cause nightmares for opposing backcourts. He could space the floor better than Jackson, and along with Payne, could allow Westbrook to drive to the hoop more, not to mention more room to get out of Durant's way and let him do his thing. Brewer is simply to add bench help, which we need.
Our 5 next year; Westbrook, Butler, Durant, Ibaka, Payne/Adams
(Kinda desperate on the bench front but I'd imagine we would take anyone)
