Should we have made a move yesterday?
I think we could still use a shooter to help space the floor and give a little more relief to Durant and Westy. (Arron Afflalo in OKC can only happen in my dreams.) However, since we did nothing and we have cap space and an open roster spot (Thanks to Danny Ainge!!) we should try to find a guy who can shoot 40% from 3, right?
I'm thinking that Daniel 'Boobie' Gibson could be a good guy to pick up for cheap. According to Basketball-Reference he is a 40% career shooter from 3-Point Land. If you want to question his ability, that's understandable. His last three years have been underwhelming. But when you look back on his career you see that he has made shots when he plays with someone who draws plenty of attention. (Pay close attention to 09-10 when LeBron was basically the only guy on the Cavs and Boobie shot almost 48%) I think that Durant and Westbrook could open up plenty of easy shots for him. Defensively, I don't know if he's our guy. I honestly have not seen him play in a very long time and I have not looked at any defensive metrics for him.
Also there may be some candidates for us to sign after March 1 when buyouts can happen. Granger, JET, and Ben Gordon come to mind. (JET and Granger are not 40% Career shooters from 3, but they are above average.)
If someone else has some ideas about our options I would love to hear them.
