Daniel Orton is no longer a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder announced Thursday in a press release that they have waived the backup center, who played in 13 games during the course of the 2012-13 season. Oklahoma City’s roster now stands at 16.
During his tenure with the Thunder, Orton averaged 2.5 points and 2.0 rebounds in 8.0 minutes per game. Before being waived this season, Orton played 19 minutes of action in one presesaon game where he racked up six points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks.
The NBA allows 15 players per roster, so the Thunder still face the challenge of how to winnow down their head count to fit the regulations.
