Throwback Thursday: Russell Westbrook In The NCAA Tournament

Don't be alarmed, Thunder faithful. I'm Jameson Draper, a new writer here. If you recognize my name, you may have seen me @jamdraper on twitter. I'll be doing Throwback Thursday pictures here during the offseason. I'll post an old Thunder-related picture, and give the backstory on it. Before I bore you, let's get started.

This is a picture of Thunder guard Russell Westbrook during his college days at UCLA, guarding Chicago Bulls star and former Memphis guard Derrick Rose. This photo was from the 2008 Final Four, Westbrook's last college game, and Memphis won 78-63.

Although his team lost, Russell Westbrook managed to rack up 22 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Westbrook managed to earn All-Pac 10 Third Team and Pac 10 Defensive Player of the Year honors.

This game helped Westbrook's NBA stock, and just a couple months later he was drafted 4th overall by the Supersonics.
