Durant vs LeBron: Hell Week Revisited [Video]

During our long and tedious lockout summer, we looked for just about any distraction available. Fortunately for us, Kevin Durant turned into the pick-up ball savior to all, and his MVP counterpart LeBron James got into the action as well.

During that long stretch, LeBron actually invited Durant to his home town in Akron, OH to participate in what they called 'Hell Week." Sports Illustrated's Sam Amick aptly asked Lebron to reflect on that week and subsequently recorded this comment from LeBron after his team defeated the Celtics in Game 7:

Interesting stuff from LeBron James on his "Hell Week" w/ Kevin Durant last summer, when they spent 5 days at University of Akron training: "We called it hell week. He was upset by his (WC Finals) series in Dallas, where they got eliminated by Dallas, & I was as well (by Finals loss to Dallas). So we pushed each other each and every day. I envisioned us getting to this point. Like I said, I'm just happy for him that he was able to get to the Finals and I'm looking forward to going against him.

Perhaps that week was two of the world's top hoopsters just challenging each other to get better, or perhaps they had a premonition of something bigger down the road. Regardless, LeBron brought a film crew along to their workouts and they cut a three-episode series called "Striving for Greatness." Here are those three episodes.
